What a feast for the eyes! Gorgeous! I was so inspired by your recent paintings of gourds. Lo and behold I found some at Publix yesterday so I've been admiring them off and on and looking forward to painting them. And this has inspired me so I'm going to take some photos tomorrow to share for others to use.

They are beautiful pictures but surely the belong in the library (http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/)where all our members can use them? Also, you can upload higher resolution pictures to the library - which is better for most folk, who like to see finer detail. We don't have a facility for ref photos in the Pastel forum....

OR...you could start a project using only your photos as refs...:) Let me know which way you want to go..

These are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing them. I like the idea of your starting a project with these photos. If you link this thread with the Project System you could also upload the photos again to the "works in progress" area of the Project. I've set up Projects before and it's loads of fun. The best thing is that a Project thread comes up in the Studio where we can all see what others did with the photos.

If you do one I'll be happy to sign up for it! Click on the link, read through the Project system stuff and see if you want to do this.

I have NO idea how to do that. Can you do it from your end?

Yes, I've set up a project before. With your permission I'll set it up and link to this thread. Once I do, go sign up for the Project. You can reload the photos as "works in progress" as the first 14 works in progress.

I linked to this thread as Reference Image #1. I'm not sure if that'll work or if it should've been to something else like a reference image library post. Either way, I have set it up as "Gourds in Pastel" and left it open both for duration and number of participants, specified pastels and selected Soft Pastels Studio as where the thread will show.

Admins now need to look at it and approve it. I chose one of your gourd photos as the icon for the project so people can see what it's about - a simple one with just one gourd since it may get reduced. I also gave you top billing and listed myself as technical assistant.

It's not hard to start a new project. You go up to the home page and then choose the art projects system on the Content Areas menu. This drops you to the home page of the Art Projects, shows what the most recent projects are and over on the left column toward the bottom is "Start a new Project" - click that and you get a series of things to fill out, type in the name of it and description and its rules from some drop down menus.

Which means you could go in and change it or the admins could change it by the time it appears. When it does reference images can be loaded directly to the Project but I think they have to have a Reference Image Library URL or be hosted somewhere else for that.

Loading stuff to the Reference Image Library is the same sort of process.

Love them! Wondering if I can combine them with pics I already have.
