A whimsical ATC of a woman wearing gold specs. I did this as a possible entry for an ATC swap on unusually coloured faces but did not include it in my set.

Looking forward to seeing your portraits of people or animals wearing specs. Any style, size or medium.

Perhaps even a still life with specs somewhere in the scene?

Or a surrealist take on the topic.

Please post your pictures in this thread and/or in the project system gallery for this project.

Here's mine. A friend came by for a visit and we drew each other. I sketched her with pencil and the other is oil pastel.

Nice doodle Sandra. Good idea to practise from photos in newspapers etc...

It can be difficult to find photos of people for art purposes.

I haven't had time to do anything for this project yet...but it will be ongoing so time enough yet

For quick sketches, the web is a virtually unlimited resource. I have collected together a bunch of reference photos (and illustrations!) of things like hands, eyes, mouths etc, and various animals, and whatever else takes my fancy. I then print a bunch of such things on a single page and cut them out, then put them all in an A5-sized plastic envelope.

Whenever I get bored in "conversations" where everyone is merely sitting around sending text messages on the cell phones, I pull out my little envelope of references and a small sketch pad, and start scribbling, simply randomly pulling little images out and sketching whatever I have in hand - my equivalent of rudely playing around on a cell phone while in conversation. :-)

Janet, what a great bunch of spectacled people. The frazzled, the tired! Love it. Which one is you?

I got two.

The first one is a self portrait and I mangled the nose and mouth.

The second one is because yesterday I went to visit my leukemia friend at the rehab home and got to pet his little furry dog. I suddenly want a little furry dog but alas, canít, I have a rented house only.

Nice doodles and sketches! I nowadays try to make a point of making some of those too, and not always be too deadly serious. :-)

Great little doodle-sketches everyone. I must have a go soon too. I love the dog with specs Janet and that cartoon is just delightful Sandra. Good also to see a self portrait.

Good to see what you look like Sandra, as serious you and having a bit of fun. The closest to me in the spec doodles is the girl with the finger across her lips...a very young me.

This is more me now...specs and all.

Pretty sly looking guy June. Your left hand drawings are pretty good, better than contour. Good exercise.

It's very pretty, goatmilksoapgoddess. I was almost looking for spectacles on the horse but it's okay, it brightens the thread nevertheless.

A quick doodle of some imaginary people.
