Had a break from school work and decided to paint something off a photo I took in a local park last week
aprox 9x12" on Colorfix cool gray tone paper.
Enjoy and C&C always welcome!

I really love the splashes of light on the tree trunk. I also like the sense of light in the background but something about the yellow/green stopping on the left side of the tree trunk and the bright almost misty light colour on the right side of the trunk. Consider either extending the yellow/green to the right or the misty colour to the left or both. Bob

This is beautiful. I can almost sense a light breeze gently moving those branches.

Nicely done. Great textures!
Those branches are amazing; the variety of direction/perspective (coming forward, going back) you've captured so well!

jackiesimmonds: Thank you!
bobbymac: Thank you! I see what you are saying. I agree, it's dividing the painting. I'll think about it.
Ron: Thank you!
IMaybe: Thank you!
Nicole: thank you!
Lisa: Thank you, I am humbled by your comparison. Mr. Handell's work has always been my inspiration along with Richard McKinley and other great impressionists. I can only hope to be even fraction as good as they are.
Toniov: Thank you!
Karen: Thank you very much
Randy: Thank you very much. Speaking of textures, I saw some of your work on homemade surface. LOVe the texture it produced with the rocks. I am planning on making some of my own supports in the near future to try it out :)
Nell: Thank you very much!

Beautiful work! I love the sweeping motion of the branches, and they are placed so nicely. I agree about the background tones, having the yellow stop directly at the tree does divide the painting. I am interested in seeing how you handle this, it's a beautiful painting!

Here is refinished version, extended the cooler blue to the left side and readded some branches :)

Beautiful, subtle changes. You haven't compromised the painting one bit, but you have enhanced it to perfection! Love it!
