12 x 9 Sennelier pastel paper - mostly Blick & Rembrandt, and pastel pencils.

I'm not real keen on the big, bulky coat; but other than that, I am quite pleased.

This is gorgeous! I love the colors; the red hair, the green eyes, and the pink coat....luscious.

The painting is beautiful. Since you are concerned, could you reduce the jacket on both sides to bring it down to shoulder height? Just put some black paper over each side to see if it helps. The face is just perfect! Pam:wave:

Thank you both for your wonderful comments!

@Pam ~ I tried that, and liked it even less!! :) It's just the bulkiness of these coats today. But thanks for the suggestion!

I don't mind the bulkiness. It looks like it could be a blanket she's snuggled into. If you don't title it "Felicity in Bulky Coat" I doubt it'd be noticed. And even knowing it's a coat my first reaction was to the colors and her face. The coat looks natural to me, like winter coats do. :)

The face is done so beautifully I focus on that - and not the bulky coat!

This is so beautiful, the face especially. I think the bulky coat is part of the "story" so to speak, well done!

Gorgeous - it has all the components! I like the bulk of the coat. We've all been stuffed in those at some time or known children who have.

Very nicely done! It looks like a museum work- The impact of the coat and the tassel might be lessened with some soft edges at it's contour-

Hadn't thought about the possibility of it being interpreted as a blanket - Thank you for the observation and comments! :)

Thank you, Deirdre! I was hoping that would be the affect of leaving the coat unfinished! Good to know it's working!
