I hope I am putting this in the right space. This is a painting I did several years ago. I can't even remember where I found the source image. Regardless, the images along the bottom of this composite show the progression from sketch to finished painting.

C&C are appreciated.

That's a palette after my own heart... UMB, burnt sienna, maybe a yellow ochre and a hint of PV19?

Love how the darks make it sparkle on the right hand side!

That is pretty close. I did this probably 7 or 8 years ago. If I remember correctly, there is a little Rose Madder and Raw Sienna as well.

This one is where I learned not to overwork sedentary paints (grainy center mass) and how to turn a blossom into part of a painting. (The background trees were part of a building.) Live and learn.

Very nice painting. Love the boat!!! Also, a good save with the blossom. It's good that it wasn't in the sky.

Awesome work, I really like your use of gradients on the building behind the boat. Way to use the paper to show atmosphere.
