for feedback I offer this--great stuff!! the grasses aren't the least bit uniform and seem like overgrown wild grass. the grey clouds make the barn peak stand out and the trees in the distant area are pushed back with your value. very much like this painting!

my only nit is the back window in the barn shows greyish sky color but yet it seems like it would be that tree line showing thru it?

Very nice !
I like the muted colors of the overall scheme, with some brighter on the roof.
The dried grass look fine and natural.
The 3 littles windows in the bg of the buildings look a bit too light IMHO and they attract too much attention.
Otherwise, it is great.(I like the barns you have in the USA and Canada ! Beauty !)

It's lovely! I do have a question. I opened this thinking a reptile was the subject. Is gator a term for a barn?

The grasses are especially beautiful.

Thanks all for the feedback. It's nice to hear another perspective after looking at it so close. The "rusty gator" title is the hint of the green john deer gator you can see peeking out of the opening in the barn :)

Great work - wonderful textures in the wood of the barn and the grasses and those clouds are awesome!

Nice work, especially the grasses . I agree about the windows they look like eyes.

Beautiful work! The windows do need to be darkened, what is outside isn't as light as you've got in those windows, something to consider. Other than that, it's looking really nice. The foreground grass is exceptional, and I like how you've echoed the sky color into the ground. Well done!

Truly wonderful... I felt the same way about the Gator title...

So much right... but I'm going to add 2 cents of take it or leave it advice. I'm getting caught in the sense of "eye holes" in the barn left windows.

Your handling of texture and the grasses (already described) is magical. I love the clouds and shapes... really stunning!!!

My computer screen size doesn't allow me to see the John Deer. Can you treat us with a close up? Barb

Ahhh, ok. Smacks self on forehead. I've heard them called mules as well. I think they're the same thing. :)
