http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/29-Sep-2013/1381727-photo.JPGThis was supposed to be a simple painting quickly done of my grandparents house back in the early 1900s. It became a lesson in perspective. I know I can improve and would love love love any advice on my perspective, my painting, anything. I really need the help. The little porch on the right end of the house :clap:caused me some trouble. Please be brutally honest! Thanks, Kathy on the road.

Forgot to say it's on Strathmore 400 series, strong rough surface 130# and I used Portfolios Oil Pastels that are water soluble and brushes of various sizes. The color was slate gray.

The picture is a bit small Kathy but the perspective looks fine to me.

Kathy, if Doug thinks it looks good then take his word for it because he's a master at architecture! I think your house looks wonderful. It's small here and it's kind of hard to see but all the details look fine to me.

The perspective is mostly correct but there are a couple of little things throwing it out. The top line of the upstairs window facing us is out of true - compare its line with the a straight line drawn between the ends of the gutters.
The downstairs window on the left should have vertical lines but they seem to slope away from the wall. Apart from these tweaks, I think the perspective looks good.

Thank you so much for your help. I need to explore more color wouldn't you say? I see the windows that are a little off.
I hope this is not too big now.
Kathy on the road.
