Fabriano w/c paper 7" x 6.5", W&N permanent rose, new gamboge, and cobalt, from one of my photos - no pencil drawing, just with w/c and brush. C & C greatly appreciated. I work very slowly, so will be a while before I post the next picture! Thanks, Betty

Love the colour in the flower and the dark shadow at the bottom.

Betty,
It looks like you are off to a good start with your drawing with the brush and the underpainting of the flower and pod.

Looking forward to following your progress.

Thanks everyone - I didn't manage to get anything done today - had the piano tuner in for over 3 hours (my piano hasn't been tuned for years), but will try again tomorrow. Betty

Off to a super fine start, Betty, with this. Last 2 watercolors I've done have also used no pencil and it is so much more freeing and makes you want to play and have fun.

Kay - I found that I see distances different with a pencil than with a paint brush - crazy, but this works better for me. Betty

Doug - thanks for cleaning it up - and your colours are closer to the original painting! Betty
