View Full Version : Columns in the Wilderness
Just finished this one. I have been experimenting with preparing different surfaces for painting. This one was done on a surface prepared with Gesso and fine white sand.
Thoughts and criticism welcome.

I especially like how you painted the foreground rocks! And I like the upward looking view, makes for an interesting composition. Did you like the gesso/fine sand mix?
Thank you Ron. I liked working on it but only after I did the under painting. To do the under painting it was necessary to lay it down flat on a table and shrub the pastel dust into the crevices. After the first layer of dust was down I returned it to the easel and only then did it make a nice painting surface.
