I thought I'd share my handy little pastel cart. The tray is a cork board/bulletin board, and the cart is a rolling file cart, but purchased at Office Depot. I put a few screws in from the bottom so the tray can't be accidentally flipped over. The cart is sturdy metal with some weight to it. I work seated and this is. The perfect height for me to be able to look down at my sticks, plus it stores easily under my banquet table that I use as a work surface:

great idea! I have something similar, but this looks better. I'll have to go shopping!

Wow thanks for this idea - just what I'm looking for my Mt Visions, something that will slide away under my workbench - perfect!

Wow! Sarah, that is awesome. Nice to know I'm not the only one who works seated. Cool idea with the banquet table too. I'm very tempted because I need more table space here in my room and it would be so handy to turn it parallel to the bed with my chair where it is, move the two folding tables so they're somewhere else with the printer on one and use the other for a dinner table. Very tempting.

I have limited space as well, I have a small spare bedroom for my studio and use it for both sculpting and painting. We have plans to eventually knock out the bathroom that separates both spare bedrooms so I can have a larger and more open studio space, but it will be years before we get to that project as we have to remodel the master bathroom first (we bought a fixer upper!). I have never had a roomy studio space, and I work seated because I am disabled.

I work seated because I'm disabled too, same thing. I suspect if I was able to work standing it'd get too tempting to do so and work larger. Cool that you got a fixer upper and have spare rooms, I've got the room I live in and that's all there is.

That is very nice. . . I would love to have something like that for my oil pastels. Right now I use a small table that I sit beside me when at the drawing board but wheels would be great.
