View Full Version : WDE 7/26 I went a little overboard

Sorry I didn't get back and comment more last week. I think I got most today before posting this. I suddenly have all the time I want to paint so that is what I've been doing and I'm being an overachiever this weekend to make up for all the months I've missed. (My Captain Jim looks different because I another photo that Li had posted in the library.)
All are 5 x 7 watercolor on gessoed paper and each took approximately 2 hrs.http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/28-Jul-2013/37996-Forest-web.jpg

A feast for the eyes Kathy. Your illustration training is really showing in the first one. It's so airy and whimsical, great light and just the right detail. Adorable frog and flutterby. I always love your portraits. You really caught the intense gaze and skin tones of Rasta dude. Nice loose brushwork. I almost chose that ref of Capt. Jim but it was too similar to Rastaman, Your likeness on the Capt. is very good. I love his jolly mood. I bet he plays Santa at Christmas. Great work !

You have done an amazing job on all three of these. The frog looks like he is happily leading us down the path The Rasta man, love him! And the captain looks like he is happy to have his picture taken and painted. Some great emotion showing through. Such a happy man! Thanks for sharing with us.
