:wave:Hi! I mentioned is a separate post earlier this week that a facility has requested to showcase some of my work. I met with the interested supervisor today and she asked if I would submit 1 painting for the purpose of exposing local talent. While she said the idea still needed to be presented to their board of directors, she was confident approval would be granted. She looked though the stack of paintings I brought with me (Most of my Watercolor/ Gouache work of the past year - about 30 paintings.) She was unable to choose just one and ended up with 7:eek:! Her choices really surprised me but she said she hopes we can keep refreshing the display at regular intervals with different paintings. Anyway - she's got the first 7 paintings and scheduled another meeting for Thursday to go over some paperwork and contracts. I'm really thrilled about getting the exposure and hope it will lead to some financial benefits:D.

These are the 7 paintings she chose. I'll post pics of the display they create.

The titles are "A Place In The Sun' / "Lil' Red Hhoehouse' / "Practice Makes Perfect" / "Anthony Ruder Attempt" / "Behind Closed Doors" / "Silence Is Golden" / "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"

Thanks for looking and sharing this happy occasion with me.

John,
Congratulations on this opportunity. Sounds like a really terrific first step to having your beautiful work become better known.

I can see why the representative had a hard time narrowing down the choice to one painting. All seven of these are beautiful. I like the variety of subjects too. :D

Congratulations, John! These are great. I especially love that last floral with its exuberant color, the cottage and the street scene. I can see why she had trouble making hard choices and I think it's a cool idea that she wants to rotate what's shown.

 Hi everyone! Just a small update for today & I'm including an invitation for anyone in the area who may wish to attend. I met with the coordinator of the event yesterday and she gave me some more details (and snatched up more of my paintings:evil:.) I'm really excited about the event & really don't know what to expect. Local gallery owners & educators are on the invitation list & I hope one or two actually attend:crossfingers:. Though the event is only one day - they will be displaying my work permanently & rotating pieces often. They have also requested to use some of the work on their website:D.
Anyway - thank you for all of the feedback & well wishes. I'll try to take some photos at the event.

If anyone's interested (and in So Cal on Thursday) You are invited to attend - The event is free and the will be an open buffet table.
Details here : http://www.prototypes.org/events/details/22
(BTW - That's not me in the photo)
Maybe see you there????
Thanks again -

Thank you so much Karl, Lulu, JJ & Lynn. I really appreciate your comments:D!!

I was in for a surprise today mostly because I was jolted awake by a swarm of earthquakes with a local epicenter before 5:00 AM. I was also surprised when I attended the event & learned there were no other artists featured. Turns out they only used 2 of the paintings I originally submitted. The rest of the work displayed was chosen during our meeting on Monday. They did a nice job with the display but I think I'd have chosen different works. I only stayed for a short time but there was quite a large turn out and I'm hoping for some contacts. There did seem to be serious interest in purchasing the sunflower on canvas painting (acrylic 12" x 16") and possibly others. Anyway - It was totally different than I had originally expected but I guess that's not such a bad thing. Here's some photos I was able to take before the start of the event. I'll check their website to see if they add their own photos.
