Here are some sketches I did on location in Central Park. I have some more from this summer that I will load as soon as get decent pics.

These are all 4"x6".

Bramble Arch

Does anybody know how to take good pics of graphite drawings? They either look washed out or way too dark and its easy to lose the subtlety.

You could edit them in a photo program such as Paintshop Pro or Photoshop Elements using the curves tool to lighten the background and darken the lines. It is important that the photo or scan is evenly illuminated.

nice sketches, especially the fountain

I always adjust in photoshop but another thing that helps is that if you use flash, put some tissue paper over the flash to lessen the light. I've used this successfully often.
