Had to have a go myself and in my usual spirit of WDE I used it to experiment.

I bought some Hahnemule Velour to try as it is supposed to be good for animals etc... The pad only came in a neutral grey and Sandy.... I tried CPs on neutral grey for a parrot and all it did was deaden the colours and didn't add to the amount of layers, maybe it was the overwhelming grey...I also tried it though with charcoal and couldn't get much out of it... Tinted Charcoal pencils.....

However, the softer pastels faired better. I did try to draw it out with pastel pencils and it didn't fair better. However when I used the soft pencils - Eureka and .... lovely to work wit too. So I've found a use for it, but I still don't like the grey as I feel it just sucks the colour right out.

The challenge was to brighten up - I think I've done that. I cropped the dish of (plastic) fruit and brought it to life ...or tried to...
