I see Sylvia mentioned about Mum being taken to hospital ...thank you Sylvia for mentioning it....I only had time to update FB.
Mum hasn't been well for the last few days...she has been very lethargic but I put it down to the hot weather and got her to up her fluid intake. However yesterday (Sat) she seemed to get worse and started to ramble in her talking.
So I phoned the emergency doctor and because he couldn't give me a time when he could get to our house we decided to take her there. We were finally seen after 2 and half hours. After doing tests he said she had a urine infection and gave me some strong antibiotics for her.
Today I thought it best to let her stay in bed but as the day went on she gradually got worse....she was hallucinating then started vomiting and her temperature went up. So I phoned for am ambulance.
When we got to the hospital they took her into the resucitation room and we had to wait in another room. After a couple of hours we were allowed in....the doctor said the infection had really taken hold...her heart was racing...high temperature ...slight dehydratipn and had affected her kidneys. They had her on monitors and IV's for fluids and antibiotics.
They will be moving her to a ward sometime but will find out tomorrow....she was looking a lot better and was more lucid...she even managed a smile..as you can see.....no idea why the pic is sideways......
Will keep you posted...she should only be in for a few days hopefully.

Just back from the hospital - Mum has improved tremendously - she was chatting away like her old self - they have her on oxygen and iv's and catheterised....am thinking of asking if I can take one of those catheters home - save a lot of trouble.....lol.
She is being moved later to another ward - it is a new one that specialises in frail elderly people but I have stressed that I do not want her isolated where she has no one to talk to.
She should be home in a couple of days hopefully - will see how it goes.
Amazingly her eyes have improved - she didn't have her glasses on yet noticed a hair on my nose.....lol....so that is one good thing.
As for handsome doctors - well she is in her element as you can imagine so that should speed her recovery....lol
She sends her love to everyone and big hugs and kisses and thanks you all for your thoughts and prayers - she thinks it is marvellous.
I thank you all too - you are such great friends and I appreciate the support.

Pat, so great to hear that Winnie is feeling better. I think she must be my late Mum's long-lost sister, because my Mum would have noticed any stray hairs, or anything else out of place, just like a hawk!
Take care of yourself as well.
Best wishes, Anne
I hope for continued improvement and a quick return home.
