Watercolor on canvas.

Would love to hear impressions on this artwork.

Interesting concept.

Colors are weak, too many tiny details> they detract from the stronger compositional elements. Not a fan of centered artwork.

Glad to see you here, always glad to see new talent come along

thanx 4 sharing this with us

Where do you see the centre point though?

I'm drawn right away to the face and eyes-- that is my focal point. There is a lot going on here...

Thanks for sharing and hope to see you in the forum more! :)

Perhaps an example from Duhrer might explain,

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/20-Jul-2013/110200-Duhrer-001-450.jpg

fully centered, but a slight twist and angle to the shoulders, her gaze draws the eyes off center

off center

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/20-Jul-2013/110200-Duhrer-003-450.jpg

placed at a 3/4 angle, looking up and out of the frame

I have collected a huge ref library of images for my personal reference when I am trying to find the right pose...too poor to have live models, but sometimes I photo myself in a large mirror to get the correct "look"

hope this helps.

Even tho' the person in the painting is abstract, building from a realistic interesting expression and placement will make the abstract better

I think I would like it a lot more if there weren't squares on the face. It would be easy to rest your eyes on the face and the details elsewhere would be stronger. :) Interesting direction though.
