This is basically a question about WetCanvas. In my search to learn all things watercolor, I've been lured astray by Chinese brush painting. I was hoping to find a separate sub category on the subject, but do not. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or is it included in an already existing category and I'm jes too new/clueless to know?

I'll not be offended if this lame inquiry is moved and/or completely deleted. I jes wanna know. ;)

I think I've seen posts over in the Pen and Ink forum. You might want to check there.

Have you watched any of Lian Zhen's (http://www.lianspainting.com/Artists.htm) videos? There are some previews on YouTube and you can watch the full-length videos on ArtistsNetwork.tv. They may have a free weekend coming up soon.

I jes found one big thread here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=395394

I searched using the word 'sumi'.

Great tradition with much beauty. Enjoy!

There is a very helpful Chinese Brush Painting Yahoo group if you are looking for online resources.

I have seen brush painting occasionally in water media as well as pen&ink. I have wondered why it doesn't have it's own forum or topic here on WC. It is one of my favorite mediums.

Nothing lame about that inquiry. ;) I am surprised WetCanvas doesn't have a sub-forum for it already. We do have Gouache Corner which is a recurring monthly thread; perhaps if there is sufficient interest the Mighty Mods would see fit to having a similar thread for Chinese Brush?

We do get a few sumi paintings but not enough to warrant a sub forum.

The Gouache corner sticky is a substitute where gouache enthusiasts can post and discuss their paintings.

Thank you, everyone. The included links led to other WC links and wealth of Chinese brush painting activity and information.
