View Full Version : WDE images HERE for July 12, 2013

07-11-2013, 07:28 PM
I will be posting 16 images and a challenge

Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you.:)

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programs - you could also say which program you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). .

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

I am attending a monoprint workshop tomorrow so I will take some of these wonderful summery images see what I can come up with. (we are in the middle of winter here, nothing like what you experience but cold and bleak by our standards)
Thanks for the great photos and hosting.

Hi Bonnie!! Great ref's!! Where's that bridge? Looks a lot like one near Thunder Bay, ON at Ouimet Canyon.

07-12-2013, 09:27 AM
Lori, the bridge is from northern saskatchewan I believe, but I will check as it is from my BIL,

That's some clutch of chicks for that goose!!!

Will do my best, as always, to join in. I've finally finished all the gouache ATCs for the landscape project. The weather is expected to continue being nice. Us Brits haven't had a summer for 4 years and this year we had 9 months of winter ~(including most of the 2nd week of my holiday :S ), so I will most likely be out and about enjoying it..... Sunday I have to miss out on seeing my son play with his band in a local summer festival... I'm gutted, it would have been perfect now we have a summer. The last few years everything got rained off and cancelled. People even stopped organising events because the weather was just raining all the time... But unfortunately I have to have an urgent spinal MRI on Sunday so wil spend a couple of hours squeezed into a tube.... exactly when my son's band will be on :(.... might just about get out in time to catch the encore :S

Might be able to do something while sitting in the garden.....

Thank you for the references. :D

Wonderful photos, Bonnie! I especially liked the courtyard and the one with the fences, that one looks so dramatic and spooky. Not sure what I'll do yet but I hope to get to one of them.

As I can't decide on the refs, and as I've spent most of the afternoon sedated in an MRI scanner I've decided I'm going to do a little self-challenge.

I'm full of prescription drugs today so can't do anythgin too adventurous as I've had a full spinal MRI.
so I'm going to use my sketchbook and give myself a limit of 2 hours to try to sketch as many as possible with whatever is to hand... I do have pots of stuff beside me always in my chair and some bits out I've been using on a piece for AWFFS.... so I'll start at 7pm and finish at 9pm and post up the results...

I need to learn to work quickly and it wil be good sketching practice, instead of printing them all off I'll do it with laptop screen on borad on lap and sketchbool to the side....

I'll get to it.....wheee

These are all super, Bonnie, you sure live in a very lovely place! Unsure if I'll have time to sneak one in, as just got a book illustration commission, and that will be time-consuming for sure. But I'll try! Thanks for hosting!
