If that violent beast walks after this trial, then any upheaval that ensues will terrify, any hatred directed at the whole of my ethnicity because of a shared European background will sadden, any destruction will dishearten, but I will sure understand why itís happening.

The tradition continues...art as propaganda.

Art has always served to disseminate the viewpoints of the artist.
Sometimes it has been dictated, as by the religions of the era,
sometimes it is in the form of Nationalism,
and all too infrequently it represents injustices as perceived by the artist.

One of the most stirring exhibitions I ever witnessed was a clothesline of painted t-shirts created by victims of sexual and physical abuse.
It was not the quality of the Art that mattered, it was the passion.

and you are very passionate about this topic
that is evident in your mark-making
and the colors chosen.

thanx for sharing

Paul...A good example of abstract expressionism, expressed with harsh/raw gestural brushstrokes, I particularly like the red which positively vibrates with emotion...

Ha!! Someone edited my phrasing to exclude the expletive.

And, thanks Katie and birdhs.
Definite propaganda this is.
And, definitely in abstract-expressionist style. Nothing particularly original though hopefully reaches a feverish tone that makes up for the lack of novelty. Blahh!!!!

And, so as not to drift off into self-absorbed commentary: No Justice, No Peace, Man.

Ha, I'm not even sure I saw the expletive! Oh well.

Paul-- powerful piece. As you say, for sure a feverish tone. And of course it's original, it's from you.
