P>> it certainly is bright and lively!

I often find clowns to be creepy, and this one has an oddly menacing demeanor...but that is just my take.

The mark-making is quite strong and very effective. A strong portrait,

thanx 4 sharing this with us

I love your colorful palette, bold brushwork and brilliant imagery that you have used to portray a familiar childhood theme. That said, the clown genre can have its elements of creepiness and I think the mouth crop here amplifies some of that. Also I see elements of surprise, fear and foreboding conveyed. Very graphic but I would not hang it in a child's room.

What do you do here? Maybe take a sharper photo of it and find a buyer, I think you are done.:thumbsup:

Reminds me a little of Bernard Buffet's clowns. (now there is an interesting story)

Clowns scare me! All that make-up mask the person behind. Your painting gives that sense of being masked...hiding behind the smiling clown face.

Maybe give the background a darker or different color to provide it more contrast with the face.

See now, I think he looks tired and worn. I love the colors and boldness of this work.
