12X16
Encaustic on wood
This is one I did to practice some techniques and try to learn how to get better control of the shapes and colors.

Next is a 48X24 - a little out of my comfort zone, but I am going to try....

this is what I done so far....I think the composition needs something more on the top left hand corner....will mull it over

what do you think?

48X24 is the size

Both of these are beautiful Spottters but I love the colors and composition of the 2nd one. It has peaceful and mellow qualities to it. I can easily see this one hanging on the wall - beautiful!

I really like the second one too - I don't think it needs anything else!

Thanks Dave for the generous comments. I am happy with the way the large piece turned out. I have been able to really immerse myself in painting for the last few days and it has been great. I think it shows in my work...

The second one is my favorite. I think you're really achieving a unique look of your own with the encaustics.

Both are excellent, as always. The first reminds me of underwater. The second one is even more compelling, I think because of the stronger contrast and the snaking effect of the circles (bubbles? eggs?), which gives it motion, though the first has a flowing motion, maybe waves.
