Encaustic on Wood
one of the really great things about encaustic is that you can always go back to something and change it. This is a re-work (I used the old painting as the surface) and I think it is much better the second time around.

The top piece is a whoppper. I may be partial to that vibe, but I love it. Organic, cellular, hairy, but abstract, composed, deranged!! It's crazy and that is the best part. :)

I guess I am unsure if these are separate pieces or the second is building upon the first image, either way I like both very much. I agree with Paul about the organic feel to the first image.

Thanks for the comments - The first was something I had done a while ago and I did not care for it. So, I painted on top of it. So the first is gone and transformed into the second. You can see some of the shapes etc. if you look.

Yes, now I see them, thank you for helping me understand. :) I like the more intense glowing effect you managed in the new version.
