your idea could work--though it's too obvious in this handling to be anything more than decorative. If you're dealing with the subject of gun violence--considering recent events in USA history-- you should meet the subject head on and not tiptoe around it as you've done here beginning with the title. Though you could get a bye on the title if you're aping Magritte.

Suggest you do a few others on the same subject until you discover your true perception of what's been happening in America.

I like the Banksy reference in the stencils and the title reference to Magritte.

It is dealing more with suicide, gun violence isn't even in the equation.

It is fitting to have the central orb shattering because that is exactly what suicide does and not only to the person committing it. It shatters all those around him or her who care for that person. A very emotional topic to tackle, Howard.

A very disturbing image and the artists pain seems to be coming through(?). Somber colors, effective piece of art for many narratives.
