I recall a woman commenting on this or a similar front of a car from that era and she said the car looked angry. I guess I see her point with how that front chrome piece dips downward almost as a a human eyebrow might look in anger.
I think this has potential for a very good abstract although, as you mention, it will take some tinkering.

I believe what you may be referring to is the Cadillacs of the early 50's, inspired no doubt by Jane Russell...
