I enjoyed reading this article about a few portrait painters and their subjects. I particularly liked the second paragraph, and the caption for Maggie Smith's portrait, where the artist describes the pigments used for their hair. I specifically pointed these out to my family who think I'm the only person who talks like that :)...

The painting of William and Harry is wonderful. The one of the queen for/on the stamp looks nothing like her!

Fabulous article. Tnx

My favourite was the portrait of the Princes bantering with each other... And Maggie Smith's was fabulous. I agree with Caryl that the stamp portrait of the Queen is not her best likeness. This was a fun read. Thanks Kathy!

Thanks Sandra

My favourite is the portrait of Prince Phillip.

I was just about to comment the same, Henry. I like that one and the two Princes are so well done and relaxed looking, while in formal dress.

I'm having trouble figuring out how J K Rowlings would look IRL, it would be interesting to see in person.

Totally agree also about the stamp of the Queen. I loved Maggie Smith and Jeremy Irons. Great likenesses. The one of the Princes is my favorite, Harry is so well done as is Prince William. A nice relaxed portrait of them both. Thank you for sharing.

Lucian Freud's portrait of the Queen (http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/andrewmcfbrown/100098298/how-lucian-freuds-portrait-of-the-queen-divided-critics/) remains one of my favorite.
