This is Lover's Key done in my Stillman & Birn Beta journal, using Derwent Watercolour Pencils with wash and then some dry accents.
First art that I've posted in a LONG time likewise first I've done besides random small sketches in a long time. I missed everyone here.

Welcome back Robert. You captured the beauty in the trees and the palette is lovely. Your post reminds me that I have some of your art lessons from several years ago. I should see if I can find them, need them right now for my landscape.

So good to see you back!!! Was the paper toned pink??? or is that the quality of the photo...I could flip it an re-post if you like!!! Captured the mood and textures....
You might like the program infanview (http://www.irfanview.com/)

PURRR thank you, Eyepaint! I am so grateful. I'm on a Mac now and don't have Gimp on it yet to rotate photos and alter the color.
The paper isn't pink. It's white. Natural White Rough, so it's a slightly warm white but still definitely white rather than off white. The original isn't that pinkish but I like the atmosphere of it and the values are accurate. I did use violet lines for the initial sketch, a soft mid-light violet with darker colors accenting it so that does affect the cast of the painting.
Thank you so much everyone! I am so glad to be back. Glad to be painting again, back online, back to being myself. The biggest hurdle is OVER! More personal news up in the chit-chat thread. I got good news last night.
Ari purrs at you and sheds Cat Hairs of Inspiration on all! I'll try to come back every week like I used to.

Great to see you posting again, Robert. I've missed your work and companionship.

Purr! Thank you both! Lissa, that was what I was trying to do, get the feel of it more than an exact tight rendering. I've been getting looser lately. Or was before I went offline and stopped drawing for so long. It was great to find out I still could.

Purr thank you! Ari snuggles and purrs at you all! Happy news, the new laptop is here, Gimp is installed and colors corrected on the photo!
So here it is again in truer color and right side up.
Cool colors are still dominant but these are truer, it's just not as pinkish and the green is quite strongly a sap green. :D
