I have not done anything for a while so it was good to get back to painting. They are both acrylic on canvas panel measuring 10 x 12 inches and took just under 2 hours.
I wish I had cropped out Rubies left eye because I kept trying to add what is not in the photo and it looks horrible.
I started the little girl much smaller as per the ref and it just didn't work so I left the background as is and bumped her right up. It worked better I think.
Thanks for looking

Christine, I love what you've done with both. That left eye isn't too noticeable. Love that you added some green to her fur and you captured her expression that I love. Bumping up Char really captures the action. Glad you are back to the WDE.

I love the palette you've used. I had trouble with that eye also. I put the photo in photoshop and lightened the shadows so I could make it out a bit. Both are very well done!

Christine,
Colors? Magnificent! Love the warmth on the lighter value side of the pup, and the coolness on the quite side. ....so very well done.

They are both nice. The eye you got in of Ruby's is wonderful. Love the little girl. She looks like she is happy to be having fun, what every child should be.
