Thanks for hosting and all the fine reference photos, Gail!
The joy of childhood seemed a great subject...so I went with the little splasher.
I wrangled myself clear out of my comfort zone, and decided to experiment with ink and acrylics. This is on a 7x5 canvas panel. I drew and painted over a rough application of gesso. I used Uni Pin and thinned acrylic.
Nothing went according to plan...mainly because I had no plan...
C&C Welcome. Thanks for looking and commenting! :)
Done in 2 hrs.

Deano, this is amazing. Comfort zone or not I love everything you do. I especially love your textures in the sky and palette.

Good of you to go out of your comfort zone! It's an interesting and lovely image.
Her right arm and hand could use a bit more attention:)

Thank you, Connie for your observation! :) What I was going for in this piece was to leave most of it open to interpretation. Not to carefully draw or explain all the details. Thus the arm and hand. Looking at it online though , I see what you mean about the hand. But, hey...this is acrylics...so no mistakes...easily fixed. Hmmm..I might even turn it into an oil painting.

In or out of your comfort zone, you never disappoint Deano!

I'm glad you left your comfort zone. Fact is, your skill is still very much on display. The form is right--the shoulder, the legs, etc. And, that movement...captured.
