View Full Version : Few more things ...

Hello people ...I did these few things these days. They are all very small - 18x27 cm. Or something like that. Canvas on board with acrylics. The new thing for me was the use of texture paste (VERY COOL!) and also metallica paints (for the car). The car is shimmering in the light iat day time. really spectacular - and that's why I love acrylics so much. Please, give some harsh critique. I am total newbie and I am learning, so the hard you criticise - the better for me! Thank you in advance.
1st one, you pulled me around a bunch, made me explore and that's good, some of it tries to look like writings in a language i don't understand, mildly irritating me because i like messages i can read and the top left splay of tornado stickman i dunno bout that, still debating, will look again later and see. i do love the horizon line/two masses for sure.
2nd one, love love love it, it's, for me, what abstract is for, freedom of recognizable something, abstracted, pow, fabulous, right down to the little tipsy hint of distant lighthouse - nice touch!
3rd, wam, no, thanks anyway, wrong kinda wam for me, tho it is well done, good control of 'choppy' !

Really love the vibrancy of the first painting! Alive, dynamic and exciting. Well done!

The 1st one is my pick...

The first one is my favourite too, those colours are just yum!

I like the third one but the others make you become involved, don't they? For me the second is compelling --- huge and dominating. "The eye of the storm"?

I like the colours of the first one, but it doesn't "say" much to me.
The second one reminds me of a wave, but I find the wide expanse of yellow on the left is very empty looking.
My favorite is the third, but I find the background too busy with the dots. Texture is good, but the dots are distracting. Great use of big brush strokes.
