As I leaned over, it was a pleasant surprise to see myself my reflection was beautiful! All this time I thought of myself as being quite ugly, being surrounded by murky water. It was a miracle to realize the beautiful world and all the wonderful blessings!
11x14 inches, Oil on Canvas Panel, palette knife
C&C most appreciated. Is there anything that really pops out that I should fix in this painting?
Thanks for stopping by and looking!

What a lovely idea and story.
This is a beautiful lily. I just wondered whether there might be a little more sparkle/ ripple on the water to contrast it more with the sky?
A very beautiful painting and clever use of the palette knife.:) :)

Thanks Colin, appreciate your comments.
Margaretta, thanks for your comments and suggestion. I thought about the ripple / sparkle, but cannot think of the right place to put it. It feels like I might ruin if I do it at wrong place...

A beautiful painting and I loved your story that goes with it!

This is extremely lovely work. I'd add broken horizontal wavy lines across the reflection, otherwise it looks as if 2 flowers are competing for attention.

Thanks Kay! I saw your post too late... Its already hanging in the Spring Reflections Juried show. But you know after I bring it back I can still do some changes as you mentioned.

Thanks Lea for your input. Today was the artist reception for this show and I stood next to it and pondered if I would really make slight changes after bringing it back home. Looking at the actual painting, I don't think I will be able to Chang it any more. Lot of people liked it even if I didn't win any award...
Appreciate all of you commenting and looking through.

Don't worry about not winning an award...and it always helps to hear that other people like your work!

Prerana, this is really lovely- all of it.
Did you attach the story to your painting for the show?

Thanks April, good suggestion. Whenever I do the show myself I put the stories next to my paintings. But this was organized by an art league. So I actually did not ask if they would like to have story. I will ask next time, doesnt hurt to ask!
