Thank you so much to Maureen for an amazing collection of images! I did three more & enjoyed playing in the watercolors! :)

The first two took about 2 hours - the cottages took at least 4 hours but I did post the 2 hour progress... As you will see, I took liberties with the cottages & rearranged the path to suit me.. They are all on 9" x 12" 140 lb watercolor paper. I can see a few tweaks needed on the cottages but I have out-of-town family coming today & I am out of time... If I work on it more I will post it here - but not likely for a few days.

C & C always welcome! Thanks for looking!

Thank you, Dean! What a great way to start the day with encouragement!

I forgot to mention the first two paintings/sketches were done with water soluable graphite pencil & watercolor. The Cotswolds Cottages was sketched lightly with a 7h graphite pencil, a dip pen & acrylic sepia ink & watercolor. The acrylic ink will not bleed or run when watercolor is applied over, of course. A little more pen & ink was added when the painting part was done...

A massive 'thank you' Patrice for these delightful contributions!
They're absolutely stunning, all of them, and then to present them with the ref - what a huge compliment!
I've always liked your beautifully observed and delicately created pieces - these take the cake though!

Thanks for sharing and showing us your process. Delightful pieces! I like how you don't ink every line outlining your buildings,etc... but pick and choose what to draw before you paint. I added this thread to my favourites for inspiration.:D
