Hi;

Thought some of you might be interested in seeing the actual setting of an art show held by the Nepean Fine Arts League this past weekend.
It was held in the Community Hall of the Greek Orthodox Church in Ottawa, Can.
40 artists... 4 watercolours.....fairly good sales.....but don't have the actual figure....I was somewhat surprised to see that only about 4 artists did abstracts.
Christiane Kingsley of WC was also exhibiting....5th photo down....bottom right.
I volunteered to do the layout of the grids. A knowledge of computer drafting makes this "easy peasy"" as Char would say.

I've listed them mostly in a before and after sequence.....

Lots of work there, Brian! Lovely grids you have, that's ideal for that sort of thing. It looks like people bring their own backing curtains, and lamps?

That's right...or no curtains or lights....;-)

It is a lot of work, but if its well organized, it gets done. As usual with volunteers, they are hard to find....always the same ones....;-)

THanks Brian for this peek at the art show and how it gets "put together." It's always interesting to see different venues. THis one looks to be nice and roomy.

Loved seeing the empty racks and grids, then seeing them filled with beautiful art work.

Glad to see that people are buying art again. Hope some of it was yours. ;)

Brian, nice setup!! Did anyone feel like they were too close to each other? What sized spaces were they? Thanks for sharing the photos. Did you sell some?

Darla, Egon, Sylvia, Katherine and Doug.
The kiosks were "just right" 8' along the back with 2' arms....and the distance was 10' clear with enough room to sit and do Sodoku.....;-)
I did well....sold 4 there and 1 after the show....
Baby gets new shoes....;-)

The Otawa-Gatineau area has always had good venues....some better than others....coming up tomorrow for 3 days....The Aylmer Spring Show....in a well known hotel, the Chateau Cartier.
Following that, on to the small bedroom community of Manotick. The venue....a curling rink......;-)
But it is the "event" of the year...$15 just to get in....but good munchies and complimentary wine thanks to a large realty company. naturally, they run out.
