I look terrible in hats but I keep trying them on in the hopes that one day I will perch the perfect chapeau on my head and I will appear so elegant that I will be mistaken for Royalty.
This is probably not that hat... :)

Frank, thanks so much! I'm happy with this one - although it took way longer than I anticipated.
Andy, thanks! Glad it made you chuckle.
Doug, I'm not sure if this will be a series - I have such a short attention span but I'm really enjoying these "hatted" ladies so far. I will go where my muse carries me I guess!
Derek, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Howard, thanks! I love that term "visual elegance"!
Pattilou, thank you! Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who will remain hatless! Perhaps a fascinator might work....

Laf.art, thank you for that lovely comment!
Chammi & Flopka, thank you!
Clem thank you for your comment especially about the face. It's out of my comfort zone so I really appreciate that!
Kathrin, what a nice thing to say! I had no intent to add so much detail but was enjoying myself so much that I was loathe to quit!

I love the concept. The composition is great and the colours. Well done on achieving something different that works
Pat, Allison, Susan, Kathie & Chrissy, thank you all so much! I apologize for not acknowledging sooner - I didn't realize there were further comments on this thread. It was a really fun piece to work on and I found that I kept adding to it as I went along - probably because I didn't want it to end! I'm currently sketching out another idea along these lines but not sure if it will find its way to canvas yet.
