Very impressive! Glass is so difficult but you knocked it out of the park!

AMAZING detail work on the glass and ice cube - the whole thing really but especially those. Not sure I'd have the self restraint not to just drink the drink though. lol

Wow, and that's acrylic. Okay, please, what paint and brushes ?

11-12-2012, 06:24 PM
Oh that is beyond outstanding, no that's not right, just beyond words, I so love and admire your talent!!

Thank you so much uv1234, Marianne, Gayle, Amanda, scribblet and Elaine for all your lovely comments!
Scribblet, I use golden and liquitex heavy body paints and small brushes for detail, nothing special. I started by priming my canvas with black gesso and used a watercolour pencil to draw it out then primed the lighter areas with white gesso and everything else was painted over black. :)
Thanks again!

Oh......my!!!! There were two jaws on the floor when I pulled up this painting - mine and my boyfriends'!!! I can't believe it, it looked like a photograph! I don't have that kind of skill, but I can honestly say that I aspire to paint like you some day.....such detail, such skill! Absolutely beautiful!!!

11-12-2012, 10:12 PM
omg...! This is truly amazing realism. That drink looks good enough to, well, drink. Your skills are enviable! Lucky hubby!

Fantastic painting lillian! The realism is outstanding, but what really draws me in is the overall colour choices. You have created the perfect mood to enjoy such a drink.

You are a master of realism! You have also managed to create a "mood" that is very warm and inviting.

YLCIA, :wink2: you did comment on page one but thanks again!
Thank you Debbie! At this size the letters weren't too tedious to do, but I know what you mean.
Hi Lulu  Nice to see you again and thank you so much for commenting!
Thank you Margaret, I appreciate your comments!
Thank you very much Nicolay!
Maureen, thank you for the nice comments! I'm thinking of doing a demo this week of a painting on black canvas, where anyone can post along. Then after the holidays when people have more time we could do a classroom thread, would that be okay?
Thank you Bertoni for your lovely comments :)
