View Full Version : Michelle's Miscellaneous Sketches 2013

Here are two of my latest sketches:

This is a sketch in my moleskine sketchbook done yesterday in Union Square Park, NYC before Joan and I stopped in to see the American Watercolor Society Show.

This one is a "doodle" of a hydrangea plant that I got for my birthday last week. I did this on a greeting card, which I plan to make into a series.

Mickey - You did a great job on the sketch from the park. You got a lot in that one. I love the hydrangea card and the idea of a series is great!

ditto, ditto, ditto, like the doodly lines around the hydrangea too, sets it off nicely.

It looks like I haven't been sketching much lately. LOL! But I put a sketchbook in my car so that I could do a quick sketch when I'm out doing errands. Brought it in today to post the few sketches in it so far.

I just did the pumpkin patch today. There was a lot of stuff there. Should probably have just sketched a small group of pumpkins instead of the whole lot and the tractor. LOL!

I guess I haven't sketched in my learning Spanish journal much lately either. I'm forgetting some of the little vocabulary I had learned. So I added these two this week.

These are all really great Michelle. Love the hydrangea card. Nice to see the spanish coming into use again too. Good idea keeping the sketchbook in the car, I should try that.

Great sketches. Love the teddy bear one. Too cute.

Lovely sketches, Michelle! I love your colors of autumn leaves, the watercolor and line style is great. Soft-edged wet in wet areas within hard boundaries always intrigue me.

Good idea bringing it with whenever you go out. That worked for me too, for some reason it's easier to think of sketching when I'm going out for something. There's always wait time involved somewhere along the way.

Go Michelle, Go!

I like the sense of the plush fur on the bears, so simply suggested.

Good to see you posting something new. I hadn't seen the sketches at the pond and the pumpkin patch. I like all the pumpkins with the tractor in the center.

Thanks, Jacqui, Debby, Robert, Vivien, EP, Jenny and Joan.

Those sketches aren't really new, Joan. I did them a couple of weeks ago. That tractor made me crazy. It had so many parts on it that I couldn't see clearly and didn't know how to sketch them. I was afraid that it wouldn't look right without them. Now that I don't remember what it really looked like, I guess I did okay. LOL
