Who loughts last - loughts best

7 Years ago I painted this

it was a commission 12 x 16 "for this farmer - for the marriage of their doughter
I painted it PA finished it and framed it at home and delivered it ( 1 hour to drive oneway ) and offerd it for 120
The farmer tried to get a special price  : " The sky is to blue , the house is to small ( his wife guidet me to the paintingplace ) .........and
" leave it - if ? we take it we will send you the money "

My answer was : No - we do it reverse - if you want it you know my adress - and went home - I was angry
2 -3 years later I donated the painting for charity :D

Yesterday I got a phonecall : Is it possible to get this painting ?

My answer was : Sorry its gone because you didnt like it but I am shure you will find a better artist with a better price

That's a beautiful painting!

It's obvious that the guy really did like it. (He's still thinking of it two years after the fact!) Likely the issue was really about money; perhaps the wedding costs were running higher than he had budgeted for, who knows? What he should have done was be honest, express his admiration, and ask to place a deposit to hold the painting.

He handled that very poorly, I hope he learned his lesson...
