Well, as this applies to "transportation" art, I will post it here. I love highly polished surfaces, and there was an antique car rally close to my home last summer. This is one of the wheel hubs, and I fell in love with all the reflections. This is watersoluable oil on canvas, 16" square. Let me know what you think!

nice work !! the hardest part of painting silver and chrome/reflective metals is getting past the idea of them being silver and viewing them as all the reflected surrounding colours / objects once you have that idea taken on board it is actualy reasonably easy and effective ,, you pulled it off nice so i guess you got past the mindset of it just being silver !!

Thanks guys! @Shadwell - I have always loved studying reflections, and this time I felt just stupid enough to give this one a try. It's a great study in reflected light, and I think it will help a bit when I do my next plane.

There's something about all the reflections in chrome. Good piece of work, D'Arcy.

Thanks everyone - I just about have a successor to this piece ready. It's a hood ornament off an old Ford, shaped like a greyhound. I am learning huge amounts working through these! Should be posting it soon if I finish before vacation.
