Thank you Tangerine for the great selection of photos.
When I lightened your Hawii photo I was so amazed by the colour of the rocks I had to have a go. A bit exaggerated but hey! and I did get tangerine in there sort of.

Trying out my new Arches Hot pressed 8" x 11" Watercolour.

I forgot to say that it took about 1.1/2 hours of painting time but in addition to this there was a long wait after the first layer for the paper to dry as I made it so wet.

Thanks for looking
Rachel

I think the exaggerated color of the rocks is perfect, and find that photos often diminish colors anyway, so they probably should look like that. Nice job!

Looks like all those colors were just hiding in there waiting to be found - looks great! I also like the glow of the light on the rocks and the waves crashing on the rocks came out so well!

Tis lovely and I agree with sundiver, most photos need to be pumped up colorwise as a reference. Plus it makes a more interesting painting, artistic license and all that!!! :D

Hmm looks so good. I just fancy sitting on a nice beach. It has been raining cats here all day and I can't get inspired!
