20 x 16, oils on board canvas
one of my students wanted to paint this ocean scene (see ref shot)
i don't remember ever painting a seascape so i painted it too so that i had a clue what i was teaching her.
i deviated from the colors of the original, found it too blue, but used Most of the skeleton of the composition.
it was tricky, for both of us! c&c welcome!!

OOO! I like this one. Much better than the ref photo. It's better than realism...

A 'nice' well painted picture, sadly lacking 'La magic' can't even see horses in the foam.

The overall blue of an ocean scene has kept me from painting one. You found a fantastic way to spice it up. Well done.

NO La I cannot see the arm face etc I obviously do not have your perception which probably explains why I am a mediocre painter and you an artist who's work I can only admire

Lovely colours La and a beautiful translucent sky. The only thing that doesn't
quite work for me is the breaking wave in the foreground. The "folds" and shape look slightly wrong.

Like what youve done with the colour. Lots of movement in the waves and wash. Agree with Mike about the folds - suggest bluring the lines to soften as ref photo. Arnie

I reviewed your other landscapes, and this feels like a continuation of the journey by

It has your 'style' to it, and I like that about it.

thanx so much for sharing with us

thanks guys, no, hadn't thought of adding someone, it seems to stand without human interaction ... will have a closer look at the waves, they should probably be darker underneath, yes, the front most wrinkle seems a bit sheet like too, will soften.
how'd you do that, greg, i haven't been able to pull up past posts of anyone for ages now, the drop down just does not drop down!
