I really enjoyed writing about Tom Hoffman's new book about watercolors. The book is called Watercolor Painting: A Comprehensive Approach to Mastering the Medium. The essence of the article: this is not much like the typical materials-color theory - washes - glazes book about watercolors, but is, instead, more consistent with the way we actually put a painting together.

He did a good job, I think (I don't know him, but I do write about a lot of books, and other stuff, but this one seemed to be something different).

Enjoy.

Sounds interesting. Why not do a formal review in the Book Reviews thread at the top of the Learning Zone?

I found the reviews, but wondered if there is a template.

It's a great book - I've read through it once and went straight back to the beginning to digest it more slowly. A big plus for me is that he completely ignores the ubiquitous first chapter of telling you which end of the brush to use etc.
