This is a watercolor from a reference photo I took a few weeks ago. Still working on the desert and loving it. 38" by 27.5"

I love the mountains and all the colors involved. Very nice watercolor painting.

PS, I HATE visiting the desert :)

Shaun ..... Yes, it's a real unique place, hiking or just siting and watching. Soon in the 100's so I am planning my last trip now while I can.

Cory .... Thank you. I am happy with it. The desert drama makes the colors sing a bit so I have to share the credit here with nature.

Beautiful colors. I have not seen your reference phot, but my memory says you have captured the colors perfectly.

BTW, is this CA desert or Arizona desert? I do have some fond memories of Palm Springs like desert, but Arizona desert not so much. Let's just say family reunion last summer in Arizona was not fun :).

I did do a desert painting once based in Australia from a reference photo my uncle had taken. That looked interesting to visit, but the huge spiders and snakes from the story changed my mind pretty darn quick.

This has all that wide open spaces feel to it that the actual desert regions have and I especially like how you have continued that into the sky area. Also good work on the power lines too. Nicely done!

Jim. Yes, these are the colors and I could have piped them up just a tad, since I know my camera looses some. Better to err on the upside.

Alan. This is just a little south of Palm Springs, so, about the same. Yes, snakes, scorpions! So easy to forget and have to be on the lookout.

Dave. Thank you and that wide open feeling is really the essence of it all when out there. Appreciate the feedback.
