My WC recently delurked daughter (Holly Bailey Designs) and I are taking a mother/daughter vacation! We planned it around the Corina Sat (9/27) class at Frantz.

Are any WCers going to be in our class?! We planned it even before we discovered WC, but I'm sure that there are some WCers enrolled! :D

Also, we are getting into Seattle on Wed the 24th and would like to get together with anyone in the area. We really do not have any definite plans yet, except the class with Corina. Natasha, will you be nearby? We would love to see your studio.

If there is anyone who is close by we'd love to get together for lunch or dinner someplace. ....or we could find a place to torch, maybe? At least we can talk glass and beads and stuff!

Any ideas?! :D

CAN'T WAIT!!!! :cat:

Wow! Lots of WC people will be there. I can't wait. It is so cool to live so close to Frantz. And to so many great bead makers (Lara, Natasha, Kim, Ingrid, and many more) I can't wait to see everyone's beads. You all are going to bring beads for me to look at, aren't you? :D

I can't wait to meet everyone! And to see all your beadies! This is going to be so cool

I'll definitely bring some beads to "show off", but probably won't have a ton...my dear, sweet DH has volunteered to man my booth at an A&C fair at Snowshoe Mt for me while I'm gone!!! Of course, it's during a Blues & Brews festival so I'll have to send friends to check up on him and make sure he hasn't enjoyed the "brews" a little too much and is giving the beads away!! LOL

two weeks from now I'll be in Seattle....
:D

See ya soon! I need to go practice on the torch!!!

I'm also in on Saturday...and Sonya...that store better be open even if it is just for us.....

But my schedule is horrific so I'll just be buzzing in and out from Portland....By the way...what time does it start? I can't remember and I can't find it anyplace...9 or 10? I'll be in Vegas all week so by Saturday I should be a basket case.

So, for everyone coming to the NW from elsewhere......have a great time!

Not to worry, the store WILL be open just for us, I do suggest to gather up the things you want and then have the sale's person (most likely Jackie) total your order while your in the class (don't stand there and wait). You can do your shopping before class, during lunch or after class.

Have a GREAT time everyone and happy shopping ;)

Genie and Holly,

You may have already gotten my message, but I'd love to get together - just let me know where and when! Maybe even a group of us could meet at a local restaraunt?

Looking forward to it!

The class starts at 10, I just called. I can't wait! I get to meet more WC people!!! My husband will be there too. Last week he sliced his hand open, and on the way out of the emergency room, I asked him if I should cancel his Corina class, and he looked at me like I was a complete idiot. Then his face got a little bit sad, when he realized that he wouldn't be able to torch for about a week, but he is SURE that he will be better in time for class. He went out last night and tried to make a few beads, but I noticed that his hand was bending where he shouldn't be bending it, so I send him back into the house to watch football, poor guy;) .

I can't wait to fondle the glass in the store again! It's been too long. Time for Frantz therapy. I need a few boro colors. And maybe some more vetrofond..... and a couple of new tools, and another fiber blanket. Now, why was I going up there? Oh, yeah, class

Hi Amy!

I got your message today (problems on the home computer  ) and we would love to get together with you!!! I'll let mom (Genie) post too, since she has been in contact with Amy (from NC) and Natasha and has set up our "schedule".

We (Genie and I) are arriving in Seattle on Wednesday morning, taking class on Saturday, and heading back to WV and AL on Monday morning.

Woo-hoo! I'm SOOOOOOOOOO excited! Almost 36 hours till I head West! :D :D :D

See you soon!

Long sad sob story for me...
I will not only NOT be coming to Seattle to my class on Sat. that I signed up for within an hour of the class posting so many months ago... I will instead be flying to Florida in the morning to attend a funeral for my mom's brother, my uncle. My cousin, who is only 16, found him in his bed this morning.. cause of death is still unknown but they think he had a heart attack. My aunt passed away 6 years ago very suddenly from an aneurysm leaving her young family, my uncle and two girls then 10 and 13. My oldest cousin is now a sophmore at University of Tampa and on her way home. It is tragic for them. It's been a long enough 6 years without their mom but this is just awful.
Of course, I am the saddest for my girls. They are like sisters to me and sometimes I have felt like their parent. My uncle was a retired military pilot in the air force. But, selfishly I am really just so sad for myself today. This is something that I have been waiting for, like a kid getting candy in a candy store. I will miss all of you guys more than you can know. I have gotten so excited talking to all of you via e-mail and was really looking forward for some "me" time. I know that this is out of my hands and I know that being with my family is certainly the right thing to do and it really wasn't even a question what i would do, it just really sux. The whole thing just really sux big time.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend... full of new ideas and learning and new friendships. Thank you for reading my "poor me post". I will miss each of you terribly. I truly will...
Please have a glass of wine for me this weekend. Preferably of the red variety, Shiraz, Merlot...??? You might need to drink the whole bottle though in order for me to feel better.
xoxo,
Amy
