Just another Conte crayon piece. This was actually an experimental thing. It was done on red fine grit industrial sand paper that I bought at Lowes.
Comments and criticism are always welcome.

Very colourful and lively! I guess you don't blend with your fingers or they would be bloody stumps on that sandpaper!!

Turpintine45, nope, no finger blending. I prefer the organic look of the actual pastel strokes. I know with the picture quality it's hard to see them, but they're a little more visible in person.

HI Pat, I did the sandpaper route early on in my career and noted that it took my fingertips off with the sanded paper. Easy does it. You deserve lovely paper for your work!!! Do more. Barb

This is very nice. My only critique is that the value of the field seems to be very similar from the front of the piece to the back. That tends to flatten the painting.

Bongo, thanks, and I see what you mean about the values. I will try to make them a little more define in the future.
