Hi all! Here's a painting I started today
I'm using kitty wallis paper, nupastel and sennelier pastels.
I am trying to use the golden spiral as the composition
Will update when I get some more done.

Love seeing your "brush strokes". Can't wait to see what happens next. I really like that line of orange on the shadow side of her upper arm and the pink on the sunlit side.

Thanks guys! A note on the colors; I'm using a blue, red violet, orange and yellow green tetrad color scheme.

Really like it already. Thanks for posting a WIP. It really helps me to see how artist get different effects. I have been watching YouTube videos recently and it is amazing to me the different styles people have. With your WIP just a few facial features and it would serve as a final picture to me since I really like more of an impressionist style ( and have a hard time achieving). Looking forward to final. http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/29-Mar-2013/1188771-image.jpg here is an update. Taking my time with her face, started over on it several times. My main goal has been to try to depict the bright sunlight and verdant greens of early spring. Stay tuned for more soon!

Hi guys- back again!
I've finished Zoe's face and am pretty satisfied with it. I've decided that the background was all too much of the same greens and the sky's value was off, so I rubbed it in or scrubbed it off and I'm going to look at it and think awhile. Although, I do like the sky at the moment.

Her face looks really good! I liked the background as it was.....but.....I can't wait to see what you're going to do with it now!
