I am really having fun with this new group of large pastel paintings. I was looking for a subject that was a little more "abstract" yet still somewhat realistic. This one is 36 x 24 inches. You can see some of the other paintings in this series here. (http://www.jillwagnerart.com/pastels/water-reflections-p/)

Beautiful! This is something I've been interested in for a while now, just haven't gotten to it. You are inspiring me to make the time. My husband would be thrilled, he loves to sail (we have a sailboat) and be on the water. I love the entire series, each and every painting is beautiful!

A glassy morning around the docks....before the wind comes up and you can't see the down to the bottom. You nailed it!

Outstanding. Looked at the series. Such talent. I have used the reference library because my own pictures are ocean, sand, waves, sand, ocean, wave, seagull, beach, wave, boat, ocean...well I think you get the picture. I will have to look at my pictures again having been inspired by your paintings. Pam

Sigh.... I love it. It is absolute perfection. Of course I had to go look at the other ones as well, and they are all stunning. This is a subject I also love to paint, although not nearly so well!!

Wow! What a series! They're all beautiful Jill, I especially love the water reflections on the hull of the boat in one of them. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you all. And I really appreciate your checking out the whole series! And Derek...Love the idea of a diptych or triptych! My mind is really consumed with water scenes right now and I will continue to post the finished pieces...

glad to see this painting , and the series as well . :)
interesting to me is how the variation of/in the ripples connects to the pilings
but is not a hard mirror image . !
