Definitely 'in the spirit of'!! Tried an idea for using the ceramic fish in a lake. The bigger fish looked mean and kind of bullying. The smaller fish in the background of the photo looked like they were running away, so I came up with this:

Unfortunately, couldn't get it to translate it to the paper no matter how much I tried! It was my first time using fluid acrylics and also acrylics on w/c paper, they sink in so much more. I think I prefer canvas. :clear:

Acrylic on w/c paper 9x12. about 2 hours.

I love it!!! Very humorous.... maybe putting a coat of gesso on the paper would have helped!!!

Great take on the challenge. They look like they are guarding their part of the sea. I really like this!

They do look pugnacious - good try!:)

With the fluids - which are rather like the acrylic inks, you might find it easier if you wet the paper first - give it a try:)

Nicely done. Yes as Carol Lee suggested, try gesso and add color to it for your bg.

Great idea and combi:thumbsup: definitely need gesso on paper first,my thoughts would be to go over it with gesso, you should still be able to see the fish shapes underneath it.
