I heard from her several months ago and have been meaning to do this for quite a while.
She has opened up a gallery in West Virginia dedicated to photos and watercolours...
What a brave lady.
Kudos Grainne.

Wow! That's great news, Brian.

Hope she has a wonderful success with this new business adventure.

Looks like she is painting while waiting for visitors to the Gallery.

Best wishes, Graine, if you look in.

What a beautiful gallery.

I wish you every success in your enterprise Grainne.

Do you have a website link Brian? The only Art Spirit gallery I could find was in Idaho.

I'm sorry, but it may been before my time, Grainne! But I admire your own personal Spirit to start your own business, and compliment you on the beautiful site you chose. Will you be teaching some classes there as well?

I not only wish you the best for you and your business, but also wish for you a more comfy desk chair!:)

Thanks for letting us know what Grainne has been up to, Brian! Her Gallery looks beautifully elegant. How neat that she also has an opportunity to paint while waiting for Customers...

Grainne, if you're lurking, I wish you lots of success in this new endeavour!

What a wonderful surprise when I finally had a chance to come into WetCanvas to find this thread titled "Remember Grainne?" The past year has been so hectic that I barely remember myself! :)

But it's great to find that some of you do remember me and that you have left lovely well wishes for me and for my new adventure. As some of you may know, I had a rather serious illness that caused me to have to leave my career as an academic administrator. After recovering from that, I thought perhaps I would not go back into something as stressful as the academic world can be, and so I decided to give myself permission to give a place to my painting that had always had to be on the back burner of my life. So I got up the nerve and created this studio/gallery that's all about the things I loveŚwatercolors and photography, with some teaching thrown in because a teacher never loses the desire to work with students in some way. I make no pretense to be a great artist, but I am a great lover of art and so perhaps that will be enough to bring joy to others. My goal is to introduce people to watercolor who never thought they would be able to paint although they harbored a secret desire to do so. So far I've been able to do that a few times and it is so gratifying.

So thank you, Brian, for sharing the photos I sent you with the group.

Thanks to Sylvia, Friesin, Larry, Susan, for your lovely thoughts. Larry, I'll be your way in September.

Henry, I've always enjoyed your work. Thank you.

Egon, I think of you when I paint plain air, and wish I had all the lovely landscapes you have all around you. Thanks for the clappies :)

Yorky, you were always so helpful to me, and I appreciate all the efforts you make to bring the art of watercolor to others.

Thanks, Kari!

Darla, thank you. I'm glad you have enjoyed the bookmark :)

Thanks to you as well, Reggie.

Lyn, you know how I value our friendship and your warm regard! Miss you guys!

Margarete, thanks for looking out for me and my comfort :) Actually usually I pull a high padded stool up to where I'm working on a painting so that I can stand up easily or walk away to get some perspective on what I'm doing. It's a lot more comfy than that chair to be sure.

Char, you are one who has been especially inspiring to me over the years. I think we have the same heart to share our love of painting with others. Thank you!

Hey, JJ, on your many travels stop by my way! Thanks for the thumbsup!

June, what a lovely lady you are and another inspiration. Thank you!

Neeman, you want to push a "like button" for me! Thank you!

Thank you, Doris and Marcio. It's great to have so many people rooting for me.

Ah, Spritey! I'm so glad to "see" you. Miss you! If you're ever this way, stop by!

Wasn't Grainne some sorta Hillbilly? I recall she had a soft spot for poetry.

Whatever.... I have no doubt she will be a huge success.

Ah, Spritey! I'm so glad to "see" you. Miss you! If you're ever this way, stop by!

It had better be snowing when that happens!

Larry, I'll be your way in September.

Well, don't forget to do this....

Postscript

And some time make the time to drive out west
Into County Clare, along the Flaggy Shore,
In September or October, when the wind
And the light are working off each other
So that the ocean on one side is wild
With foam and glitter, and inland among stones
The surface of a slate-grey lake is lit
By the earthed lightening of flock of swans,
Their feathers roughed and ruffling, white on white,
Their fully-grown headstrong-looking heads
Tucked or cresting or busy underwater.
Useless to think you'll park or capture it
More thoroughly. You are neither here nor there,
A hurry through which known and strange things pass
As big soft buffetings come at the car sideways
And catch the heart off guard and blow it open
