Reminds me of a Rangoli design...
Rangoli images (http://www.google.com/search?q=rangoli+images&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=QWJLUeCwNerE4APM84GgAQ&ved=0CC0QsAQ&biw=1460&bih=763)

It reminds me of retro design! Love the colours...its a bit psychedelic with the petals and colours. Very nice!

Tangerine - Rangoli is new to me - thanks for the link :)
Retro - hmmm - well, I'm old enough for this to be my retro!!! - I used to introduce colour mixing and mark-making to the first years at school (11yr olds) by doing these with them on a fairly large scale .... they always looked colourful on the walls and the kids could always succeed with such a painting ... so useful - and now retro

looks like ya had a whole lotta fun, happy cheerful blooms :D

Maureen, I am old enough to be retro, but my preteen reminds me my retro will never be "in"! LOL
You know the more I look at your piece, the more it seems to come alive-beyond the first burst of colour. There is a bit of a 3D effect and depth happening in those flowers, and the way you layered the colours are especially vivid. Really "digging" it!

Just like Susan (surob) said - upon opening your thread I immediately thought of a kaleidoscope - lovely Maureen.
