I am going to do a bigger WC painting of your julia Sharron, I love this photo
but playing with a new idea this week
I saw a demo on pan pastels on acrylic, which I loved, but I dont have pan pastels so used my other pastels
needless to say it did not turn out
so then I painted over the pastels with gouache
this really needs to be painted in WC

Interesting! The light effect is amazing on her hair esp. I base coat with acrylics often with pastels, tho usually with more variations in the values. I think you should explore it more.

Love the light effect. I guess she is pretty popular this week.

Like this. Saw the same demo and thought I'd use my pan pastels, but they were in the garage so used those at hand. Don't you just love trying something new! The second one is lovely, and Li is right to suggest you explore this further.

I like that you're always ready to try something new - there are a number of pleasing aspects to this work - in both views!

Julia is a great subject to convey light, Bonnie! Great job.

I like both versions. Painting on a black background is daring. Congratulations!

I also fell in love with this photo. I was afraid I could not do it justice. I really like what you did with it.
