Hello! I am making a collage with 20- 3x3" mini canvas's on a 18x24" black stretched canvas, To be arranged in 4 columns and 5 rows.

This is for a school auctions and our theme was "Fish". Kids are done outlining fish in black, now its time to color in with oil pastels. Wondering if I should give them Primary and Secondary colors for fish and Tertiary for background? vice versa? what would look nicer?

Also wanted each row to be different ocean colors, any suggestions? Do you think it would look nice with all the rainbow fish? Please advise, Im an oil painter, new to pastels. C&C Thanks!

Welcome to our forum:...wave: Sounds like a fun project. Personally I'd use your first suggestion with primary and secondary for fish and tertiary for background. I would think that the fish would stan out better. The ocean colors sound fine as long as they are darker and don't take away from the main subject. Good luck, would love to see a picture when this is finished.
